Walk By Faith Not By Sight
"For we walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7
What does it mean to walk by faith?
Some versions of the Bible says "Walk by faith" (ESV) others say "live by faith" (NIV)... still another says, "keeps us moving forward" (MSG), but all versions have a common theme, living by seeing life through faith eyes keeps us moving FORWARD.
And not just moving forward, but I would add purposefully moving forward on the race marked out for us. “...let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” (Hebrews 12:2-3)
When we live by our sight, life be quite overwhelming.
In my therapy sessions I have learned that when life becomes overwhelming, hurts or disappoints us, our reaction is to do one of three things: fight, flight or freeze.
Paul shared how even though times are super tough for him, he is CHOOSING not to do any of those things, but instead choosing to walk by faith.
Do you see what I am seeing?
Paul chose a different option.
A better option.
This month we are going to break down what choosing to walk by faith looks like.
I hope you will join us.
Cheering you and lifting you up,
Your friends at Sparrows Grace.
